We had a feisty and fun little houseguest this past week – Tyler’s cousin’s dog, Chukker. He’s a one year old terrier/ schnauzer mix and while he’s a bit bigger and much more solid than Herman, the two dogs played and scampered and ran around all week.

Chukky discovered lots of Herman’s toys (which Herman suddenly wanted again, after having left them discarded in a doggy toybox for over a year) and followed me around like a little black shadow. He’d even paw on the bathroom door while I was having a shower, and curl up quietly at my feet while I was working.

It was good for us too – we were forced to get out and walk more often, and watching the two of them play tug of war with a toy, lick each other’s faces happily, or lay side by side at the end of the bed was pretty cute.

Chukky’s parents had a great vacation in sunny Mexico, and I think he had a pretty good time with us too!
