I’ve written about green smoothies in the past but did you know I’ve been knocking one back each and every morning for the last few months? It’s become a part of my get up and get to work routine. Shower, get dressed, let out the dog, make green smoothie, fire up computer. They’re tasty, good for you, and I like that I’ve had a great serving of greens and vitamin C every day already before 8am.
I usually kind of grab handfuls of spinach and throw in whatever frozen fruit I have on hand, but I thought I’d document my smoothies this week as recipes. They don’t vary a ton, but they all tasted a bit different and delicious. Each one makes about 2 glassfuls which you can chug yourself, or share!
A few tips that work for me:
– I put in the baby spinach first, then the heavier fruit, yogurt if using, and pour the liquid over.
– Freeze as much of the fruit beforehand as you can. If your fruit isn’t frozen, add ice.
– I tried mixing in some leftover cooked quinoa this week for a little protein boost a couple of times, and didn’t notice a difference in the taste.
– Most days I do add in a banana, just cause I love them, and if it’s underripe (on the green side) I’ll add some honey to the smoothie. If you like sweeter drinks, adding honey to any of these would work.

So what do you think? Have I convinced you to try out a morning smoothie chock full of fruit and spinach?
Hope you all have a great weekend!
