Hello there and welcome to My Ottawa Life. I’m Melanie, and I live in Canada’s capital with my husband Tyler, baby son Julian, and little dog Herman.

In 2009, I quit my steady, comfortable job to go back to school and pursue something I loved – web design.

In 2010, after completing a graduate certificate in Interactive Multimedia, I accepted a job doing search engine optimization for a high-tech company. After 2 weeks, I was offered my dream job working for a company that makes websites for musicians, and I took it without looking back.

It can be so complicated to make those choices that mean you get to do what you love, but when you get there, it is so worth it.

This is my personal slice of home on the web. I love to travel, take photos, cook, and design websites and of course, write about it all! Thanks for stopping by.
